William & Wallace

With their shaggy coats, impressive horns and gentle personalities, William and Wallace are some of the most recognisable members of the Noah’s Park Farm family. These handsome Scottish Highland Cattle are always a favourite with visitors, who are often surprised by just how calm, friendly and curious they can be.

Originating from the rugged Highlands of Scotland, Highland Cattle have been bred for centuries to thrive in some of the harshest weather conditions in the world. Their iconic double coat protects them from wind, rain and snow, while the long fringe of hair over their eyes, known as a “dossan”, helps shield them from the elements and pesky insects.

Highland Cattle were introduced to Australia in the early 1980s and have adapted well to a variety of Australian environments.

As natural foragers, they can graze on a wide range of grasses and vegetation, making them well-suited to sustainable farming practices. While they were traditionally raised for their high-quality beef, many Highland Cattle today are kept as companion, show or educational animals due to their unique appearance and gentle personalities.

Although they may look large and imposing, Highland Cattle are renowned for their gentle nature. William and Wallace enjoy spending their days grazing peacefully, exploring their paddock and meeting visitors who come to experience life on the farm. Their relaxed temperament and striking appearance make them one of the most photographed animals at Noah’s Park Farm.
